SO taking a walk this afternoon I load up my pockets with MUST KEEP leaves. Hard to stop myself the colors are so inspiring. I put one on my scanner and zoomed in to a section. Here is what I found.

research
I am working on the black and white quilt that has the big black spots on it and decided to do a study of cracking surfaces for the free motion quilting. Spent my afternoon walk taking pictures of cracks. Here is one that was almost exactly what I was looking for. The people at the bus stop watching me take pictures of these cracked sidewalks probably thought I was cracked myself

thank you Vivi
My talented niece Vivi drew me a castle on an island while she was here on a sleep over. I spent the past couple of hours playing with it and came up with this pattern. It really made my afternoon happy.

Philadelphia here i come
Just got a notice that Same but Not will show in the ArtQuilt Elements show in Philadelphia next Spring. The nice thing about this show is that it is at the same time as the SAQA/SDA conference Identity:Context and Reflection and the Fiber Philadelphia biennial devoted to all things fiber art.
A must be there event.

where have i seen this before?
This rough construction came out of nowhere for me the other day. And I feel like I have seen it somewhere before. It's really bugging me. I feel like I am channeling someone else's thoughts. So I am going to wait till I feel more comfortable with it to proceed.
