Working on a piece that seems to defy any attempt at completion. I have removed stitching 3 times over. Now what is more interesting to me is the fact that those old stitches have left trails to follow, aging the fabric, wounding it. Might have to do more of that to make the message clear here.
Isn't it funny that even though there were a couple of saints named Valentine, neither of them have been positively linked to romance?
Here is my second attempt to craft the image that keeps recurring in my head...a maze-like search for love in all it's forms. I may add a border to it.

For those of you on the west coast the Quilt National traveling exhibit is opening tomorrow at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles. The exhibit includes my Global Warming quilt and has some exquisite examples of quilts as art pieces. Take the opportunity to see it for yourself.

Just returned from the Works of Heart show which benefits the Child Advocacy center here. There were many wonderfully varied interpretations of a simple heart shape by talented Memphis artists. I recommend taking the time to see the works now hanging at the Memphis College of Art.
I couldn't really focus on actual work when I returned to the studio. So I did this practice run on a piece I have been thinking about lately called looking for love.

Buddy, who probably should have been named Velcro, enjoyed nothing more than wallowing in oak pollen. He has been with us for over 15 years and he will be mightily missed.
